March 3, 2007 - very first video of Arnel and Zoo Band cover song of Journey's "Faithfully" was posted on You Tube by Noel Gomez, aka. ndgomez777 on his YouTube channel, who Arnel referred on this video clip "a very good friend".

June 28, 2007 - Journey's Neal Schon discovered video clips of Arnel with their cover songs on YouTube. Neal e-mailed Noel Gomez for Arnel's contact.

........ "I was frustrated about not having a singer", explains guitarist Neal Schon, so I went on YouTube for a couple of days and just sat on it for hours. I was starting to think I was never going to find anybody. But then I found The Zoo and I watched a bunch of different video clips that they had posted. After watching the videos over and over again, I had to walk away from the computer and let what I heard sink in because it sounded too good to be true. I thought, "he can't be that good." But he is that good, he' s the real deal and so tremendously talented. Arnel does'nt sound synthetic and he's not emulating anyone .....

Aug 12, 2007 - as requested by Neal, Arnel with his manager Bert De Leon, flew to San Francisco for an audition.

Aug 13-19, 2007 - holed up with Journey in their plant studio warehouse in Sausalito, and jammed with the Journey guys for three days. At one point jamming for 3 hours. Then to Jon Cain's home recording studio to test his voice. Before his flight back to the Philippines, Arnel was told that he got the gig but kept it a secret.

........ That was the defining moment, said Arnel. The recording-voice test. Even then, Arnel was told that he was it but he and Bert de Leon decided to keep it a secret, until December last year when he and Arnel completed the recording voice test that capped their more than two months second trip to L.A. (Oct-Dec 2007).........

........ "Right off they told me I had the gig," he said.

Oct-Dec, 2007 - back to the U.S. for more recording test. Journey recorded their first album with Arnel as their lead vocals which features 12 songs of Journey's Greatest Hits (aka "The Dirty Dozen"), and also features 12 brand new songs. Album which has been reported to release in summer, may release in spring.

Dec 20, 2007 - back home to the Philippines for holiday with his family.

Jan 2008 - Arnel appears on several TV interviews in Manila on TV Patrol, Jessica Soho, GMA-7. Attended send-off party with his former band Zoo at Hard Rock Cafe and Bagaberde.

Feb 1, 2008 - back to the U.S. for rehearsal in preparation for his first concert in Chile in his debut as JOURNEY's lead singer.

Feb 18, 2008 - flight to Chile for his first live concert.

Feb 21, 2008 - his FIRST LIVE CONCERT/DEBUT PERFORMANCE as JOURNEY's LEAD SINGER, at Vina del Mar Festival in Quinta Vergara, Chile.

Feb 23, 2008 - live concert at Santiago Arena in Santiago, Chile with Frampton/ Earth, Wind & Fire.

Feb 24, 2008 - live concert at Vina del Mar Casino in Valparaiso, Chile. This was cancelled due to technical and safety issues.

Mar 6, 2008 - private concert at a Remax Convention at MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

Mar 8, 2008 - first public live concert at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

Mar 12, 2008 - back home with his family.

Mar 29, 2008 - back to the U.S. for a private gig. Greet and Meet with couple of friends and fans ... see it here

April 3, 2008 - attended a private gig at Pebble Beach in Monterey, California.

April 5, 2008 - flight back to the Philippines. Expected to be back in the U.S. mid-May.

May 17, 2008 - back to the U.S. Greet and Meet with couple of friends and fans ... see it here

June 3, 2008 - Revelation CD release, his first album with Journey.

June 4, 2008 - Private gig in Arkansas at Walgreen's Shareholder's Meeting.

June 8, 2008 - Europe/UK tour which kicked off in Madrid, Spain at La Riviera. Tour ended June 28 at Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. Total of 14 EU/UK tour. Videos and photos here and tour dates here

July 9, 2008 - U.S./Canada tour which kicked off in Denver, Colorado at Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre. Tour ends Oct 11 in Coquitlam, BC at Red Robinson Theatre. Total of 55 tours, 52 in the US and 3 in Canada. Videos and photos here and tour dates here
